Help me get tournament ready !
Ok so I have a tournament coming up here in november. It is a grappling tournament. I had a lot of issues with my last one and I have every intention of not having the same outcome this time around. I plan at being at the 175 class (current weight is 185) but I want to lose the 10 pounds without losing muscle and without just cutting water weight.
My thoughts are of course keeping a real clean diet (with the cheats every once in a while, i mean really sometimes you just have to)
my supps will start a month before the tournament and consist of
multi (opti performaxx)
whey (optimum 100 %)
OEP-alphat2 stack
Xtend (during workouts)
Anarchy covalex (pre workout)
Workouts will be
mma training on mon,wed,and fri
fasted cardio on tues,thurs,and sat
sunday is off day (prolly cheat meal day as well)
should I loook into doing keto or will I lose too much strength doing that?
does my supp list look ok or should I add anything to it? I will prolly not take anarchy while on the oep alpha stack, due to over stimulation, and a list of other problems.
sample diet is ;
wake up and have steal cut oats
snack almonds
lunch lean meat and veggie
second snack cottage cheese and sugar free jello
dinner lean meat or fish and veggies
before bed casein protein
appreciate any input. thanks.

Well just placed my order. I will be starting this next week (2 fairs in 2 weekends means no point starting now)
Alpha t-2 / black cats stack (thinking 2 at2 1 bc a.m / pm 1 and 1)
Nutrapro protein (post workout or breakfast mixed with natty pb and oats)
xtend (during workout)
Dicreatine (thinking 5 grams daily)
aakg (might add to xtend a a intra workout or take pre)
Also of course have the other staples like a multi, and my flax/fish oil.
During this time I wont be taking a pre-workout due to being overstimmed.
Diet will be 2 weeks of straight keto, veggies allowed.
after that it will be Keto cycling. 3 days on 1 day carb up. Carb ups will be complex carbs.
Training mma on M.W.F (twice on fridays)
running/jogging/sprinting on T.T.S (fasted cardio)
Sunday is a off day.
Well maybe I will turn this into a log with photos or something. See how it goes. Goal is to get to 175 or less by mid november without losing too much muscle (i hope)

Be aware that it is possible that you WILL lose some muscle mass if you focus on losing SCALE WEIGHT - scale weight should NOT be the focus, but BODY COMPOSITION (I understand that you're trying to make weight, but you still don't want to lose valuable muscle mass to do it).
I personally wouldn't recommend doing keto - it's not really conducive to sports performance. You CAN lose fat effectively and successfully withOUT resorting to ridiculous diet methods - I recommend reading The 3 Keys to Fat Loss for comprehensive nutritional information and tips for fat loss.
The supplements you got should be fine. Don't focus on supplementation for fat loss, since your success (or lack of) is going to be dependent primarily on your NUTRITION (and training).
Add more carbohydrates into your diet. Amount looks low re calories. If you don't know about it already, look into calorie/carbohydrate cycling - search for information; there is plenty out there. It is, IMO, the best and most effective 'diet' method for fat loss, as well as ensuring that your sports performance won't suffer.

you can lose 1 pound a week and be there by then......assuming its in the middle of november...so in my opinion..... lose 1 pound a week, throw in your muscle gain so it equals 1 pound<very easy to do. 3500 cals=1 pound
high protein, good carbs, prob want to keep your cals around 700 lower then your maintenance(add your in and out calories), low fat and sugars<diet imo is more important then the workout.
i think this would be pretty ideal for good weight loss/without losing muscle mass or strength.

Definitely just remember to drop the creatine a couple weeks out at least.

Thanks for all the replys.
Thought I will give a little background of myself before I turn this into a log.
October 2009 : I weighed in at 260 pounds. Not sure if that was my heaviest but its when I finally got on the scale. Being only 5'10" thats really not where I wanted to be. I felt like pure crap all the time and looked pretty rough. These are just some of my before photos. Not the worst ones but you get the idea.
I will be posting the now photos a little later.
