    CKD diet food list

Any info out there? I see c-k-d no longer exists. I don't have the luxury of a grocery store here, so I want to see what I can eat for this diet.

    I've done the math.

    Total Body Weight: 183
    Body Fat %: 16.1(machine tested 3x)
    Lean Body mass: 153

    Maintenance Cals: 2745
    Weight loss Cals: 2245
    Protein Cals: 612
    Fat Cals: 1633(206g)

I have easy access to eggs, chicken, hamburger, pork sausage, tuna, raw almonds/pecans/walnuts, whole mayo.

I'm curious how I can eat 1633 fat cals a day. I don't think I could get there. What about protein, can you go over?

    Thx.

    1600 calories lol

that is absolutely ridiculously easy to get to.

    eat 4 times a day.

at each meal eat a serving of olive oil, cheese, ranch, and chicken breast. = 430ish.
    35g fat, 30g protein.

change the fats and proteins up as needed.

Yeah marshmallow man, you only need 181 grams of fat, not 206 grams of fat. If you eat 6 meals a day, you need 30g of fat per meal, and about 25g of protein per meal. 4oz chicken breast is 23g of protein, 1TBSP O.O. is 14g of fat, 1 oz almonds is 15g of fat. If you eat peanut butter, a natural PB has less sugar than regular. Italian Dressings, caesar dressings have oil in them and usually no carbs, just check the label. It's really not hard. Center cut pork chops would be a better quality choice than sausage, and has usually about 9g of fat per 4oz.

I am on the same calorie requirements and here is a sample day from my fitday account:

I think I have it figured out.

    4 meals+2 shakes

    Meals:
    Lettuce/Chicken breast/cheese/dressing x 2

    4 whole eggs/4 egg whites/2 sausage links(or canadian bacon) x 2

This is stuff I have accessible on a daily basis at my location. It comes out to 1900 cals, 225ish protein, 20 carb, 110 fat. I need more fat, but I'm not sure how to get it.

I have almonds/pecans/walnuts available as well. Or, drop the egg whites in favor of whole eggs.

    thoughts?

i would say limit to 1 shake, unless its 0 carb. i know my whey has 3 carbs so i only use it once a day ( at night ).

remember each egg also has 1 carb. i dont know if you can access cheese of any kind ( except cottage, which is really lean) , but for me it is a must for getting in extra fat every meal. also, use fattier meat. get 80 or 85% lean ground meat(chuck, preferably). if you use 96%, your protein : fat ratio will be fubarred every meal.

remember, the anabolic diet demands AT LEAST 40% of calories from fat. my range is typically 50-55%.

I could get the ground chuck from hamburger patties. I guarantee the AF uses the fatty kind...lol Put some cheese and mustard on that and I'm good.

My protein has 5g of carbs, but I'm about out. I was going to order some that had 2g.

I've read for CKD you should have around 60% fat, 30%protein. What kind of dressing can you get? Dump the cheese since the ratio of fat to protein is too narrow. 1 oz has 8 fat and 6 protein. Substitute those calories for almonds. Can you get any kind of oil, canola, safflower? Better than nothing. And what do your shakes look like?

    Shakes are:

    Current stuff:
    120 cals
    2.5 fat
    5 carb
    20 protein

I could probably get the wife to send me some olive oil and flax seed.

first of all, carbs should NOT be 10% intake on CKD. by your ratio of 60/30/10, he would end up eating 54carbs.

to me that is excessive and not CKD, but rather just another low carb diet. i think he is trying to stay within the 20g range. nuts need to be used sparingly at 6g a serving.

and the cheese has a 7g to 7g ratio of fat to protein. it is to make sure he isnt getting sick of eating nasty plain meat ( assuming he isnt adding in stuff to the mix like a raw egg, worchestershire sauce, etc). its basically a harmless way to get more calories in.

the fat margins will come from the oil.

I ain't given up the cheese man!

I'm gonna order some flax, the wife can send me some OO. I'll work it out. I wasn't going to start this until late in July/first of August.

Could I start it earlier? Does it affect my energy level when working out? I've never been a big carb guy anyway. The more carbs I eat, the worse I feel.

What about creatine on this plan? good? bad?

All The Whey Protein Isolates have 0 carbs, 25g protein, and it's only $39 for 5 lbs.

Ketosis would lessen the effectiveness of creatine products as they need carbs (especially simple sugars) for internal transport.

also, creatine interferes with the effectiveness of caffeine. on CKD caffeine is alot more effective as a fat burner. so if i was you, i would hold off on the creatine and just focus on the fat burning. take an ECA stack and you will see great results. i know in the past couple days i have been sweating alot taking leviathan and EC to make it ECY.

I didn't mean 10% carbs. Still keep it to 30 or less, and make the difference fa or protein. I meant you need a higher percentage from fat. Use the 60/30 as the base.

I didn't say cheese was bad. But if you need to cut some protein and add more fat to get to your appropriate ratios, you need something with more fat and less protein.

Almonds have enough fiber in them, 3g per serving. As long as you account for them, just don't go over your limit.

If you don't get any fiber, you will regret it.

Okay, I think I have this figured out.

    Daily Intake:
    3 tbsp EVOO
    8oz Chicken brest
4 tbsp of full fat ranch
    2 cups of lettuce
    8 slices of cucumber
    4 whole eggs
    8 egg whites
    2 Protein shakes

    Total Cals: 2306
    Total Fat: 159g
    Sat Fat: 34g
    Carbs: 25g
    Protein: 185g

    Thoughts on that???

Did ya notice the lettuce and cucumber? I'm thinking Chicken salads.

I don't use milk with my protein shakes. Straight aqua. I can always intake more chicken if I need some additional calories.

Now, I just have to wait till my box with Olive oil arrives.

Good post, this is helping me to get some ideas together for my start on CKD. No carbs today or tomorrow and then I'm starting in on my macros...
