low fat triscuits for good quality complex carbs during bulking. Tuna, cottage cheese, apples, etc.

i think as long as you control yourself having so called unhealthy snacks is just fine.. i mean you got to live a little and not just eat lean and low fat EVERYTHING all the time.. of course unless thats what you like:)

I snack on the following:

Often:

Fruits, vegetables (carrots are my fav), wheat bread, penut butter(at least 3 tblspoons/day), cottage cheese w/protein powder mixed in, yogurt (various flavors), and tuna (straight out of the can)

Not So Often (as in like 1-2x/week);

Snickers bars (yummy!), corn chips (from Trader Joes), skittles, nutrageous.

Almost Never (like 3-4x/year);

Oreos...Once i start I cant stop...which isn't bad if you'rereally bulking.

peanuts & protein bars (snacking really isnt my thing though...i dont do it often is what i mean...just when i know i wont have access to food for 3+ hours). But my weakness is definetely the no sugar added icecream/yogurts. Have a serving of those suckas a day (but blalently, i throw in a scoop of protein to feel like im eating something good).....ha

Sugars

There is something to be said for sugars. You see when you eat them the chmical reaction in the body is to release insulin. Now insulin carries all macros to and in cells. Here is the problem if you eat too much it will store in the adipose tissue IE fat. But a good little helping gets the cell doors open for whne you eat that high protein meal about 20 min later.

PS i love snickers as well, damn sweets

Protein Pudding

I am sure someone has already done this but I thought I would mention it. I started making protein pudding using the following:

1 box of sugar free/fat free instant pudding (any flavor)
1 cup fat free cottage cheese
75 grams Iso vanilla whey
16-20 oz cold water

I mix all the ingredients in a blender for 2 - 3 minutes. If it gets too thick and won't blend, I add a little bit more water.

I break it down into 2 servings myself. Each serving has:
270 calories
49 grams Protein
17 grams Carbs
0 grams Fat

Has good slow (casein) and fast (whey) proteins and really helps with the sweet tooth.

I use water instead of milk to cut down on the sugars in milk. Plus with the additional whey powder and cottage cheese really ups the protein.
