Pslin/AP and ketosis

EasyEJL

Never enough
Do you know if anyone has done even just individual ketostix tests to see if using AP/Pslin with a moderate to low amount of carbs kicks them out of ketosis? I was thinking about something along the likes of a TKD, and since I work out first thing in the morning and its only a 40-50 min workout it could be a pslin then moderate carb meal (30g say) 15 min later, workout starts 15 min after that, and another 30g of carbs with PWO shake roughly 45 min later. Handy to have the gym in the house :)

I'm sort of 50/50 on it from a theoretical basis as without the insulin spike you probably should stay in ketosis, but i'm not sure if the GLUT4 action could also kick you out.

I have not tested your theory along those lines, but I did try something similar. On my first carb up after my first meal (150 grams of carbs) and a dose of P-Slin prior about an hour later for the hell of it I used ketostix to see if I was still in ketosis (not testing for the P-Slin but its said that your body will still use ketones for fuel during refeeds)

I found I was still in ketosis an hour later after taking in 150 grams of carbs. Can't say it was because of the p-slin but food for thought.

That definitely makes sense, as it does take more than the 1 meal to kick you out. And i suppose that does extrapolate cleanly as well, if the only carb intake is that short time daily around a workout, you shouldnt go out of ketosis then and ap/pslin would only help that

Since your running a low carb (and there fore depleted glycogen levels) even without the AP/P-Slin I think the principle of ketones remaining as the predominant fuel source would still remain intact while the carbs are instantly utilized for the workout/gylcogen storage. AP/P-Slin will only further IMO and additional help with insulin levels even when not ingesting carbs later throughout the day.

TKD + AP = my future nutritional/supplemental fat loss method of choice.

Solid idea man. I actually think about switching back to TKD to finish off this cut but I am just going to finish it off CKD style (mainly because I want to save as much AP + P-Slin for my bulk.)

On a side note I am about to go 2 weeks with no carb up so wish me luck.
the next two weeks-->:nutkick:<--me wanting 8% by May 15

I'm not versed in ketois, but in about 3-4 weeks, I will jump into a fat+protein meal and then spike the crap out of insulin for about 2 hours per day to reap the anabolic rewards using plsin, AP and a few other goodies.

How many grams of carbs you going to be using to accomplish the spike per day? Also curious how is you cut coming along? Is this a new strategy to shred some final % digits?

In 2-3 weeks(a guess since I've never be able to diet this far down and I've tried everything), I should have a six pack for the first time in my life and I am getting stronger in the gym and in jiu jitsu class.

I'm not sure on how many carbs yet but over 100grams for sugar for sure.

Easy,
I had a thread, or a long comment in a thread about this. I have found nutrient-repartitioning/glucose-shuttling agents are critical to Ketogenic (cyclical or otherwise) diets. The best ones i have found are AP and
KRALA, which work very well together also. I have yet to try Pslin, but will in the future. I have read that the signaling for ketosis occurs based on liver glycogen levels. Since the aforementioned products shuttle preferentially to muscle via GLUT-4 the liver is competitively deprived, which allows a much higher threshold of carb without getting popped out of ketosis.

Very interesting, thank you!

Do you live in the States?

PM me your address and I will send you some goodies. I am feeling generous and you are always in here helping brothers out.

Very much appreciated man. Finishing up a cut with recreate than after I take a 2-4 week break off from all supplementation and just go straight training going into a hard year long lbm gaining period. USP labs "Lean Bulk Stack" June 15 to kick it off and see what I can do.

Potential Natural log of the year :D.

Again thanks BP.
