Scientific Talk
Because you may want to know a little more about the scientific exacts of Forslean™ here is it straight from our Pharmacist’s mouth…
Bolic™ – Pure Forskolin (Forslean™)
“Forskolin is a compound isolated from the Coleus forskohlii plant. Forskolin acts as an adenlyate cyclase activator, which in turn increases intracellular levels of cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate), which eventually works to stimulate lipolysis in adipose cells. Beta 2-adrenergic agonists such as ephedrine and clenbuterol actually work by increasing cAMP as well.
Unfortunately, because they work at a receptor (beta adrenergic receptor), their effectiveness can decrease with continued use as the body down-regulates the number of receptors available on the target tissue. Forskolin bypasses the receptor and directly activates adenylate cyclase, obviating the need for “cycling” on and off of the product every few weeks. Another potential benefit is that accumulation of cAMP in skeletal muscle may provide an anti-catabolic/anabolic effect as well (1).
A study which evaluated body composition found that when they gave 50 mg/day of forskolin to men (without having them change their normal habits), they were able to reduce body fat percentage by 4.14%. In addition, they were able to lose 4.52 kg (9.9 lb) of fat mass and gained 3.71 kg (8.2 lb) of lean body mass (muscle tissue), over a 12 week period (2).
This sounds impressive by itself, but when compared to the results of studies using the anabolic steroid, oxandrolone (trade name Anavar™), it’s even more impressive. Oxandrolone has long been known as a moderately potent anabolic steroid which is great for reducing fat mass. However, forskolin has shown just as good, if not better results. For example, 20 mg/day of oxandrolone has been shown to increase lean body mass just under 7 lbs over a 12 week period, yet as already noted, forskolin has been shown to produce an 8.2 lb gain in that same period of time (2,3). Additionally, a 3% decrease in body fat percentage has been shown after 12 weeks of use at 10 mg/day with oxandrolone, while 50 mg/day of forskolin has been shown to decrease body fat percentage by 4.14% (2,4).
Other benefits shown are a trend of an increase in total testosterone of 16.77% and a confirmed increase of 3.47% in free testosterone in men taking 50 mg/day of Forskolin over a 12 week period (2).
It is also important to note that while others may cite the same study demonstrating such benefits with forskolin, it was performed using Forslean™ and only Forslean™. While others may claim their products will produce these results, only Forslean™ was actually used in the study, not theirs.
Don’t get suckered in by esterfied forskolin products which have only a fraction of actual forskolin in them per mg as compared to a pure forskolin product.
The oral bioavailability of Forskolin has been and always will be great, there is no need for any such alterations or delivery systems. Forskolin is effective by itself as it has been shown in all of the published studies available. “
