idea for some USPlabs research

haha that does sound like something usplabs would release!

funny, I been looking into this for about 3 months along with some other goodies:}

Curcumin is definitely a powerful anti-inflammatory inhibiting both COX-2 and LOX. Probably the most powerful natural anti-inflammatory out there.

In any case, spices like turmeric have huge health benefits. I've always used Indian spices in my cooking for their potent antioxidant and anticancer properties. Here's a good recipe for those who are interested:

1 C. Mung Beans
1 C. brown rice
1 t. of turmeric, cumin, and coriander
3 T. sesame oil (cold pressed, unfiltered)
1 T. gray celtic sea salt

Cook the beans and rice together as usual. Warm the sesame oil and dissolve spices and salt in it. Stir oil mixture into beans and rice. This simple recipe is considered the food of the gods in India. I like to throw in some wild rice and Adzuki beans along with a little cayanne pepper and sometimes some garam masala. As Hippocrates said: "All food is medicine and the best food is the best medicine."

very interrsting...

would curcumin be something you could combine into the cissus rx product?

I too would like to see a strong extact of curcumin. Just because you guys come out the most innovative stuff.:clap2:

And la voila, what I was getting at with my anti-cancer comment.

I didn't see your comment. Besides, cancer is far more complicated than just having a relation to COX-2. And chronic inhibition of COX-2 is going to be a detriment to muscle growth. What you DON'T want is COX-2 "firing" off in resting muscles. We see this often in out of shape individuals where their muscle tissue is anaerobic even in a resting state... causes a very unhealthy state of systemic inflammation. For them, curcumin could be a god-send. But so could regular exercise...

But it brings one back to that argument of cancer existing in an acidic non-oxygenated environment only.

It was in an identical thread in a different section... many repeat posts on here. I find it amusing that you sound patronizing towards me in regards to cancer. Did someone suggest that cancer is as simple as COX-2 expression? That would be quite amusing. I am a little restricted as to what I can say but my advice to you is two fold : 1) read the literature, 2) dont patronize a pathologist in regards to cancer.

CC, I don't think he was being patronizing. I find the whole subject fascinating and would love to hear what you guys have to say.

my bad then.. it is very likely that anti-cox 2 medication will become part of adjuvant therapy in the very near future.

No, I wasn't trying to come across as patronizing. And if I had known your qualifications, I definitely would've stated it differently. You should by in your sig "I'm a Pathologist, do NOT F*** with me!" ;)
I'm all for discussing this with you is you like. One of the guys I work with is an MD going into psychiatry, a very sharp fella, and he was basically my personal tutor while at The Arnold (we shared a room). It's good to have highly qualified members roaming the boards.
