I had a spinal fusion surgery done just over 6 weeks ago. Will this stuff help my recovery and make the fusion stronger or will it mess with the healing process?

I dont know bro - Cissus seems to work really well when it comes to increasing the speed of healing...read through this page:

I believe that Cissus would have a positive impact on the process of your recovery. I would definitely recommend it to you for speeding healing time.

there is a guy at premiermuscle.com that had some sort of spinal surgery and has dropped pain meds in favor of cissus.

Medical advice should be left to the experts.

Thanks everyone, I actually asked my doc about cissus, he never heard of it..lol ...figures ...fkn doctors!

He says that my recover is remarcable so far and that he expects me to make a full recovery in nerve function, That made my day!

I was so depressed before, now I fell Awesome. I still have a little bitch right arm and no right pec or lat but I am making gains slowly.

This is for everyone out there... dont learn the hard way and take your health for granted..value your health because it is the most important thing you can ever have. You could be a homeless man with good health and be luckier than any sick rich man.

I learned the hard way... and believe me, this is one of those things where you should learn from other peoples mistakes not your own! So take care of your body!

Ruptured cervical disc from MMA fighting. Went 5 months in a graet deal of pain not knowing what was wrong with me untill I couldnt feel the right side of my body.
Got a cervical laminectomy done, then 8 months later Some jerkoff falls asleep while driving and puts the trunk of my car into the back seat..and my car almost explodes. Disc ruptures again, this time in three places. Had to have a spinal fusion, that was about 7 weeks ago.

what where the symptoms during the 5 months..was it tolerable?
I have a very high tollerany for pain so, Yes I could tollerate it. But I was not a very pleasant to be around. I had a pain to the right if the base of my neck. You know the pain you feel when you hit a nerve in your teeth. Well just immagine that 24/7 and maybe x4 in the morning.

My right upper extremity gradually became weaker and weaker untill it was so weak that I couldnt even hold a glass of water in my hand. My arm would go numb from time to time and my hand was always numb. The muscles that were effected would jolt involuntarily in a painfull manner, this would happen several times a day.

After the car accident, I had the same symptoms except at one point my hand went completely limp. I couldnt even move a finger, I couldnt flex or or extend my wrist at all, it was just limp.

I lost my sense of smell, I got depressed, I gained a lot of weight, my whole body felt like sh1t. For a while I didnt think I was gona be able to do any thing with my right side, and thinking that just killed me..I was used to training MMA like 6 hours a day..It was my life....After the second surgery..A miracle happened, my strength came back immediatley when the doc checked up on me the next morning following surgery...of course I wasnt that strong because of all the attrophy but the doc couldnt believe it. He said that that is very unusual to happen, that that kind of progress takes years. He also said that if my neck wasnt as strong as it was from MMA training that I would have probably been paralised, any other person yould have. ANd I am vey glad that its all about to be behind me now!
..Because the this past year was the worst year of my life! I thank God evey day for saving me.

Aside from a cissus product, what else did you use, or do you recommend?

I am thinking cissus and L-glutamine.

I will be getting some surgery soon, myself, and I want to start planning.

Thanks,
R

Hopefully this stuff can help heal my ACL after that hardcore surgery...**** surgery..

I love CissusRX - I do notice however, that when you discontinue use, after a couple weeks it seems like the pain will return, although not as severe. While I do think it definitely has healing qualities, it also seems to be somewhat of an analgesic as well.

Why would adequan work better? I believe they both would work great together but one who suggest a product should have a reason besides a simple statement.

Problem we incounter with cissus is the pain does return but healing a cronic injury that the user has basically excepted as part of life will take time. Almost every user with cronic pain admits the pain returns but less severe.

Another problem is the User is not taking a rehab approach to training. They feel the effects of cissus and begin trianing like if pain never excisted.

I totally agree - CissusRX will dull the pain and promote healing - but you should still of course exercise caution in injured areas, and train them for recuperation.

Ceosm - any idea what pathway in the body Cissus is using for its pain-killing effects? Could it be stressful to the kidneys like an NSAID?

Besides the above-mentioned properties of Cissus, the plant is also rich in the vitamins/antioxidants vitamin C and beta-carotene. As analyzed, Cissus quadrangularis contained ascorbic acid 479 mg, and carotene 267 units per 100g of freshly prepared paste in addition to calcium oxalate (6).

The typical recommended daily dosage of Cissus extract is between 100 and 500 mg, depending on the concentration of the extract and the severity of symptoms. For the powder of the dried plant, the Ayurvedic texts recommend a dosage of 3 to 6 grams to accelerate fracture healing. Safety studies in rats showed no toxic effects at dosages as high as 2000 mg/kg of body weight. So not only is Cissus efficacious, it is also quite safe, in either the dried powder form or the commercially available extract.

Lots of good studies on the glutathione stimulating/healing properties of whey. In particular ones with lots of the sub-fractions intact such as lactoferrin and imunoglobulins. I know PA is unpopular in these parts, but ergopharm's GH Pro is good in these respects. Also a whizhammer of an anti-oxidant should be used, I really like CoQ10, and CNW on this site has one of its more potent analogs Idebinone (sp?). Best of luck on your recovery, remember that much of it will be what you put into it so no matter how frustrating it gets, don't be the quitter that most poeple are so that you don't limit yourself to a quitter's prognosis. Read Lance's book about when he had cancer. It WILL motivate you to kick ass through recovery. Best wishes...Dim

Oh no, I am not trying to say your product is not good in any way, in fact the two working together would be awesome. Adequan however is made for connective tissue specifically. And I am pretty sure that it is a lot stronger than CISSUS. But I do not know hardly anything about CISSUS. I am actually writing the profile for Adequan for IFL. I have used adequan and let me tell you. It is a miracle drug. The reason it is not approved by the FDA for humans is because it fixes sh1t! There is no money in the cure. It is used quite extensively in horse racing. Its hard to get a hold of cuz its prescription vet medicine.

I cant wait for the CISSUS to come in the mail though!

PHWSSJ,

Keep us posted if Adequan in any way interact with Cissus.

Adequan sounds promising, wonder if any of the vendors here would carry it.

Thanks.
