The peripheral DCIs [decarboxylase inhibitors] within Mucuna Pruriens have not been specifically identified; as a result, it is unsure whether carbidopa, or carbidopa like analogues, are contained within Mucuna.
This being said, the symptom which results out of this contraindication is actually not neurological in nature, but physiological: the combination of 5-HTP and carbidopa produces a strange skin condition in PDS patients, due to the production of abnormal proteins in peripheral tissues.
If you plan on using them in conjunction with one another, I would separate the doses by several hours!
