I got the Trutein TrueBasics chocolate Casein on their last sale. I wanted to give it a good review and let folks know what to expect.
Mixability: 10/10 - Mixed extremely well for a casein or any protein, in both milk and water. No clumps with 2 scoops in a shaker cup.
Texture: 8/10 - It's a little grainey, but as expected by a casein. Compared to Optimum Nutrition it's better, but not as smooth as muscle milk or EvoPro.
Taste: 9/10 - Tastes great in milk or water. Not the best I've had, but really good for a casein.
Gas/Bloat: 10/10 - no bloat or stomach discomfort to speak of, great.
Value: 10/10 - For a casein/whey blend with 80% casein, that's a pretty good price. Overall nutrition profile is excellent, so a good value.
The scoop was right on top, so that's always a pleasure!
Overall, very pleased with my purchase. I got a couple samples of the Isolate and Blend that I still have to try. I was hoping to try the Trutein, but maybe next time. Will buy again!
