That being said Maltodextrin is an almost identical subsititute:
1) The are both fast-digesting carbohydrates that exert an insulin spike to help your cells uptake nutrients
2) I'm not sure from the anecdotal stories I've read that the low osmolity of WMS has much of an effect on anything as compared to dextrose or maltodextrin.
However, I'd be interested to hear if you've noticed positive results with WMS?
Our maltodextrin is quite cheap, so if you wanted to give it a go, it might be worth a shot.
