Price going up?

I'm just wondering because I read on various sites that prices of whey are going up due to higher demand in Asia. Does this affect you guys too and any idea if the prices will go up?
 
We have been making every effort to keep costs as low as possible but we have definitely felt the effects of the current inflation in whey and casein pricing. The unfortunate reality is that our Whey Protein Concentrate has gone up more than 43%, so small price increases are inevitable at this point.
 
just about everything in the market has risen significantly, I dont happen to have any hard numbers on the egg but i know the prices spiked nearly as bad as the whey concentrate. casein products are also being hit hard, the entire industry has seen a dramatic change in a short amount of time. much of the reasoning has been do to an increase in demand for milk products in china and a draught in new zealand, where much of the milk and egg products are coming out of.
 
Once whey prices went up, economics would state that people would look for alternatives and so other protein prices would also go up. And that's how things seem to have gone down.

I've been following these impending changes for a few weeks and the reasons you gave are spot on. (16 pounds of protein purchased in the last week :))
 
:goodpost: hopefully everyone else has too, we dont want anyone thinking the price increases are anything but necessary at this point!
 
it is difficult to say, but the industry leaders that supply GNC and other vitamin shops likely will not drop their prices after this point, it will likely become the new standard

anyway ur MPI price is up, I thought u source this from FRANCE?? france also drought?
 
The problem with price increases on any level is that once one aspect of business begins to raise its prices, any product that is under the same demand curve also rises as people begin to look for substitutes for whichever product is on the rise. With Whey driving its prices so high, manufacturers have caught wind of the rises and gouged the marketplace
