No HEET

Hi guys -
over here (UK), we can't buy HEET, and I'm finding pure methano hard to find (hardware stores have 'methylated spirits' which is a methanol/ethanol mix with purple dye added to stop the winos drinking it). What would you recommend as the best alcohol/solvent to substitute for HEET for syno conversions?
