Read this before you mix transdermal

well I have just basically wasted 18 grams of test base. 100 grams of phlojel did not take it. So this is directly from triceptor over at avant labs. I just want everyone to read this before they start a transdermal so you don't crap you money and supplies away. As for my solution to the batch of gritty poop I have now I am ordering some DMSO and going to mix that with some distilled water and spray that on after the gritty phlojel drys.( which is hella fast) The recipe he is refering to is the the one sent to him by JAR pharmacuticals to compound 200mg/ml.

by the way this is a good way to mix everything after you mortar and pestle it. carl[/QUOTE]Invalid Link Removed

the compounding instructions for 200mg/ml of T base in PJU was for 100g batch. it calls for 11ml of olive oil to be belnded with 20 grams of T base. the T base must be triturated first using a mortar and pestle. this step in my opinion fixes the probelm of grittyness in any dose batch. this is a step most often skiped by home-brewers and is essential. any good compounding pharmacist worth his/her salt always breaks the powders down using a mortar and pestle. if you don't have access to one a concave bowl and soup spoon will provide similar results. once the powder is fine and without grit, blend the olive oil into the powder a few ml at a time and levigate. once you have a smooth paste, add the required PJU. for this example, since 100ml batch was prescribed, we would use 68.3g of PJU (PJU is 1:1.01 volume to weight so 20g of T base + 11ml of olive oil leaves room for 69ml of PJU. 69 / 1.01= 68.3g).

I don't believe that adding more ethyl will fix the problem as the grittyness is not related to solvent (or you will have to add so much ethyl that the PJU will be watery and less effective), but more a mechanical one of not breaking the grit down prior to compounding. you're going to have to use this batch as-is imho.

also, a last note. i much more prefer 100mg/ml. i believe the penetration and delivery rate at that concentration is much better from my own persoanl experience. just my 2cc's.

good luck

pj---ALL IS NOT LOST!!!

I do crazy t/d mixes, and have salvaged any number of pasty, gritty mixtures. If you can at least estimate the amount of what you have in paste (say a blob with 200mg in it), the simplest thing to do is to put it in your hand (in the desired amount per dose), and add small amounts of carrier (thin, liquid carrier, such as custom's customizing gel or t-gel, mixing as you go. The thing will thin out, and the stuff will dissolve to the point where you will be able to apply it and rub it all in. Don't worry about diluting it too much. Bottom line is that you'll get the stuff in that amount to absorb. It is not as important to worry about too much carrier. The thing is, you'll be making your solution work dose-by-dose as you go.

It may seem like a hassle, but it really isn't. Especially if you don't lose your goods! Good luck!
