    Gym without butterfly machine

I just joined a large, brand new gym (24 hour fitness). I was surprised and bummed to find out there is no old-fashioned butterfly among the hundreds of fancy machines! WTF? Sure, I do other things for chest but nothing seems to isolate and burn the pecs like flys. Any suggestions for alternatives?

Do actual flys, or cable flys?

You don't know "burn" until you learn how to do them with free weights.

You want a burn?... push some gasoline on your chest and light it. Woooooaahhh man talk about a burn. LOL.... dude I have never seen a champion with a chest worth looking at doing the butterfly machine. Stick to the basics cause you can't carve a peeble.

These machines are the downfall of the young trainer. My best gains were during hs football, and when i ditched all that **** and started powerlifting. You want a big chest, scrap all the machines, stick with pressing dips and dumbell flys.

Remember you can get a burn curling a 1 lb rock if you do it long enough. Stick to the basics, and that fly machine actually can creat havoc on your shoulders.
