Is it ok to lift forearms 3 times a week and are they fast twitch or slow twitch?
I train mine because (1) it helps for hockey and lacrosse (2) my upper arms look disproportional otherwise.i personally never ever have done forearms and i always get compliments on them. I never really saw the point since everything you do works the forearm muscles, theyll grow as everything else does when you start to get larger, or maybe i just have good genetics
im jus tryin to get them bigger
I do all the exercise you mention but the one of above is harder for me because my butt gets in the way:think:Other days I'll do behind the back wrist curls with a barbell. You just hold the barbell behind your back, curl your wrist away from the body, squeeze your forearm as hard as you can, and hold for a second and slowly relax back down. Repeat for several reps until you can't curl the bar up anymore.
. .
Perhaps you just have too much junk in the trunk  I couldn't resist passing that up. Try making these adjustments to your form:I do all the exercise you mention but the one of above is harder for me because my butt gets in the way:think:
Perhaps you just have too much junk in the trunk  I couldn't resist passing that up. Try making these adjustments to your form:
-Keep your arms perpendicular to the ground.
-Relax your shoulders.
-And lean forward slightly.
This will enable you to hold the bar lower so it misses your butt.
Another thing you could do is sit on the edge of a bench, to the bar hangs free behind you. If you're using more weight than just the bar, put a plate or two on your lap to prevent you from toppling over (even though that would be awesome to watch).
well, I wasn't sure how much weight your doing the wrist curls with. I've been doing with 185, and that's starting to approach my 'topple over' threshold as it's a pound or two more than me.Haha..nope not too much butt I'll try adjusting my form its been awhile since I've even tried these.
As far as the weights in my lap. I'm not that light..I wish , I'm still heavy enough to counter a 45lb bar:fool2:
