Hey everyone,

I'm an 18 year old female;

I just started training a little while ago, but have had ongoing knee problems for the past 5 years. I've been to various specialists, physios etc and have recently been told I'm unable to lift anything due to the added pressure on my knees. I also have limited to no ability to move my knees numerous times.

I'd still like to be able to focus on my core strength, back and arms but don't know of any routines that would enable me to do so.. I also don't want to become too toned up top and weak leg muscles due to not being able to train legs properly...

Any tips for me would be really great! Thanks!

What type of specialists and what was their diagnosis of your knees? Did you injure them prior to training?

Get your nutrition in check too.

I have seen multiple physiotherapists, surgeons and orthopaedic specialists.
As yet they've not given me a diagnosis, but it's clear I have a maltracking problem, and possibly some bursitis issue.

I didn't injure them, it's just something I was born with. However I played soccer for 5 years which would have increased the rate of deterioration.

Maltracking I believe can be improved with corrective exercises and stretching. You might want to get NYiron involved in this post as well. I think with therapy and care, you should be able to get back to being able to train your legs.

Unfortunately it's gone beyond that point and I am unable to fix it with training, it will have to be surgery..
Trying to move my knee causes heaps of pain

I've attached a photo as well so you can see, the patellas face inward quite a lot and there is severe swelling below, some people say it looks like I have two knee caps
