Here's what you actually need.

Every HATEBREED record every written. All of the songs can pretty much be related to lifting, and they make you focus so hard. Also Harm's Way "No God's No Master's ", heaviest songs ever and they are actually about lifting and becoming stronger.

Tool is too melodic for training and that's coming from someone who's seen them live 5 times. It's great for cardio, but not a 1RM.

Hatebreed's "Live for This," "Facing What Consumes You," and "Destroy Everything" get me rolling along with Lamb of God's "Redneck," "Again We Rise," and "Blacken The Cursed Sun" rev me up.

I agree somewhat with Tool being too melodic, but I still rock a few songs while lifting. I listened to this yesterday.

I've seen them 9 times as well. Best live show hands down.

I should've specified that it's too melodic for a max effort as there isn't a huge crescendo in most of their tracks. "The Grudge" or "Stinkfist" have a decent one, but it's mainly Maynard's voice that lowers the poer for me. His voice is so unique that it puts me in a quasi-trance and gets me into a good groove for rep training and cardio.

Yeah, good point. I'm doing Mtn. Dog training currently and Tool works great with it IMO.
