    Back strain

Yesterday in football we went heavy in squat RDL and incline. We also did some sprints I went back in to do are other powerlifting workout which was only arms. I was on my last set of barbell curls when all of a sudden my back gave out it felt like someone knocked the breath out of me. I woke up today in pain I was wondering how long it would take until I could get back into lifting weights? I think it's a pulled back muscle no swelling or bruising yet.. And what should I do for recovery

as long as its just a pull, probly 2 weeks. you should get it checked out and make sure thats all it is though. no lifting for a week at least.

for a tip, sleep on your back with a bunch of pillows under your legs to elevate them. itll lengthen your spine and relieve lower back pains while sleeping

strain = damage to the muscle or tendons attached to muscle
sprain = damage to joint and ligaments

strain and pull are used interchangeably because a pull is a type of strain. pretty much inability to use muscle. maybe bruising or swelling, but thats a real bad pull or a tear. another symptom is pain at rest which si why i suggested the pillow under leg thing
