Bruise above knee from leg day

    Hey guys,

Just after a leg day of mainly deadlifts and squats I had some pain in my upper knee. The morning after there was a visible bruise. It is right above my knee cap on only my left leg. Does anyone know why this could be? Iv'e been icing it to reduce the swelling. Thank you

I got a big bruise a few months ago on my left quad after an intense leg workout. It didn't hurt and I did not even notice it until I went to shower. I was a little freaked, but it went away on its own in about a week and didn't effect my training.

Your case seems different though. It definitely sounds like you aggravated something (muscle, ligament, ?). Take it easy and get it checked in a couple of days if it doesn't seem to be getting better.

Knee seems to be a lot better since Iv'e removed the leg curls from my workouts. No more bruising and no more pain, thank god!

Great to hear bro! Maybe add some straight legged deadlifts for the hammies.

Bro I end up with bruises all the time after going to the gym lol I have no idea where they come from but .....I will tell you this...I used to have trouble on the descent of my deadlift...I would always hit the upper part of my knee and end up with major bruises...one time I even ripped the skin off of my upper knee...just be careful

Deadlift scrapes suck! I'm mostly doing trap bar deadlift nowadays.
