Bad idea? Sadly I can only do pullups with a doorway bar since I have to workout at home, since I don't have a car and my bench press/squat stand take up most of my room.

Find a playground. Do a hood workout if u don't like doing them in doorway. Usually some good spots for dips there too.

Well the thing is I can do the pullups with just my body weight with the doorway bar, but I'm worried that once I start doing weighted pullups it will be too much for the door frame. I want to do weight pullups..not really practical to walk to the playground carrying a a dip belt with weight plates. I want to do weighted pullups to help with arm development. My arms never want to grow.

How sturdy is the construction of the bar is and how much weight you want to add?

Could always go this route If you wanted to spend a little cash, they looked pretty cool when I was searching around.

this last one looked a little flimsy but it was the cheapest so I figured I'd throw it up there.

I'd love to get one of those but the problem isn't so much the price but space. I live in a townhouse and I live with my grandmom. The only way I could buy one of those and have space is if I can some home convince my grandmom to get rid of the furniture in the living room which isn't going to happen. This is the bar I have. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Pure-Fitness-Multi-Purpose-Workout-Bar/15859558?findingMethod=rr
in terms of how much weight I want to add, I'm starting out low about 10 lbs and then add 10 lbs once I get to 12 reps, until I get my arms to grow. I want them to grow about 2 1/2".

The second one I think comes apart without any tools could always set it up
In the driveway then break it down when your done and I believe that one was rated to 350 lbs. The one you have, who knows could get away with using some lighter weights google it and see if you could find what the bar is rated at.

Something like this could work http://www.muscledriverusa.com/Pendlay-Elite-Squat-Stand-with-Pull-Up-Bar_p_886.html if I use it to replace my bench since the bench/squat stand and the bench seat are two separate pieces however that stand is too tall at 95", I'd need a stand no taller than 87" to fit in my room.

There is no driveway its a townhouse with a parking lot, we don't even really have a yard sadly, but I could buy that and just move the couch into to kitchen and then move it back when I'm done, that might be my best bet since all those squat racks are too tall to fit in my room even if I used them to replace my bench press stand. Thanks for the link.

Well I bought it and its a piece of **** first of all you cant put it together by yourself if you dont have the "stabilizing support bar" that I didnt by because it was $80 more and the thing feels like its going to fall apart when I use it and thats just with my bodyweight. I'm going to try and send it back and buy the dip belt anyway and not go above 80 lbs for weighted pullups and hope and pray thats all I'll need to get up to to get my arms bigger and the pullup bar and doorframe can take it. Hell the door frame felt a hell of a lot more stable than the pullup station I bought.
