Probably not the right forum for this, but whatevs......
It's been a long while since I've been around here at AM. Seems like the ol' guys I used to know here are all company reps now. Good **** staying dedicated, doods.
Anyways, I have been........ not so dedicated these last two years or so. Far from it actually. After leaving the Marine Corps, I found that blazing and playing video games was a whole lot of fun and easier than busting ass in the gym. I've only gained about 10 lbs (but lost a great deal of mass) so in essence I probably gained 40 lbs, or something silly like that.
Of course, it's the same old story....... once you get out the gym, it's hard as **** to get back into it. Everyday I told myself I'd be back lifting something heavy, impressing the ladies and scaring children with my man-beastliness.
So today, I said fuggit, and bought a membership at a local gym (which I cancelled b/c they didn't have a power rack). Tomorrow I'm going to the other gym that has proper iron. Felt really good lifting again. Really good. I'm a weak bitch compared to 2 years ago, but so be it. I should be back to respectable numbers in 6 months or so.
So to start out with, I'll be doing a 5x5 routine focused on compound lifts, I'm not much a believer in isolation, but then I'm not a body builder. I like just being strong as ****.
Am I interested in some different routines or training methods, maybe some stuff that has caught on in the last couple years, so I'm open for suggestions. I'll get some PR's in about a month, when my body gets back into training mode.
