    Jim's workout routine thread.

Figured this would be a fun one to start up on here. I use a reverse pyramid scheme split for chest/back/rest/shoulders/legs/arms/rest. I start at 6 reps for the big compound exercises and do 1x6, 1x8, 1x10, and 1x12. On the accessory lifts I tend to work up in the same fashion but for 3 total sets 1x8, 1x10, 1x12. Its on a lift by lift basis for accessory lifts but it stays something similar to this.

What does your split/routine look like and why do you do it that way?

I use a routine that I found on Muscle And Strength. It's pretty great. Lots of variation.

I've been lifting consistently for the last 5 years or so. Originally for football and I was using WS4SB which is a great program! I am currently enlisted so that changed my goals a little but still trying to gain some good clean weight and get stronger. I do the reverse pyramid so I can limit my rest by dropping 5 pounds or so and going for more reps so I can work the endurance that is necessary for my job. So far its been working pretty well!

If you're just naturally aggressive in any way whatsoever and go in the gym with slight to intense anger I recommend looking into dc

If you're referring to back squat, deadlift, bench press, and pull ups then yes. I also do bent over rows, overhead presses. (Normally Arnold press). I'm on my phone right now but I should be home in a few hours and I plan to post the full split.

I have not tried it. Just heard of it. I will look it up when I get home.

I always like to have different programs on hand for when I start to stagnate or lose motivation. It happens every couple of months and it allows me to focus on different goals for a couple of months or more and has really helped keep the gains coming.

Anyone have any experience with Fst7. I've heard a lot about it but have not taken the time out of my day to actually learn about it.

I do DC for upper body workouts and something like westside (using ME and RE) for lower body (I don't rotate the squat exercise). I just can't seem to gain strength in the bench like I'd want to without DC, it's so strange.

Today was legs after my 18 hour car ride. Coulda been better, but coulda been worse too.

    Squats - 275x6, 265x8 255x10 225x12
    Leg press- 360x8 360x10 360x12
    DL - 275x1 (thought i could get 6 but wasn't gonna happen) 245x6 225x8 225x10 205x12
    RDL - 185x8 185x10 185x12
    Leg ext. - N/A
    Leg curl - N/A

Normally I do these last two but i didn't have time tonight. Aldo on squat I will normally do 10 or 15 more pounds but my knees weren't feeling it today and I should have put more on for the first two sets of leg press. All in all it wasn't too bad though.
