When training arms I have usually limited myself to no more than 10 sets. The next day I usually have a bit of soreness. However, I decided, in order to shock and change my routine, to switch to a much higher volume of training temporarily. I ended up doing an intense 17 sets for biceps, and now two days later I have virtually no soreness in the biceps. Is there a physiological reason why a higher volume like this might result in less soreness than usual?
