favorite form of cardio?

  1. favorite form of cardio?


    Hey guys, I hate running for cardio but my sport makes me do it in some form or another on my own. I have found that jumping rope is becoming one of my favorite cardio routines.

    What cardio does everyone else do that seems to be not so bad?


  2. sprints or swimming (when possible)

  3. Trail running. I do endurance races but I do hate running and grow bored running on tw streets. Running trails is much more peaceful, fun, entertaining, than the streets for me. I focus on nature, my foot placement etc rather than just sims move forward.

  5. I train for linear speed, so sprinting and sprint technique drills are my main forms of cardio.

    But when I'm with copycat on this one...trail running and mountain biking is great. Nothing makes me feel better than running through the woods and getting lost in some day dream.

    I grew up in the scouts and am in the military so hiking and rucking has always been there. Trail running though... The first time I really went trail running I was so focused on my foot placement as not to get hurt and such that at some point along the way I just seemed to forget about daily life. It's kind of a zen thing for me I guess. Also, but easier on the knees than asphalt and you work for stability muscles on the trail. You have to learn to be loose and agile while being fast.

    Very zen like, and I actually think its a harder workout than road running, at least, around new england where it can be quite hilly.

  9. I commute to work by bike. 25 miles each way 3-4 days a week. Winter tend to damper my spirits but here is a video from last Sunday 1-8-12. I'm the camera man. We are out in the middle of nowhere so we can get away with using most of the road. This is a very aggressive/competitive group. The one and only female rider is my wife. I think she was #3 in the Athletix Sports girls contest. She is also in the Butts thread.

  10. Rowing, running, and jump rope, if it's pure cardio. I prefer conditioning work, though. There's nothing like strapping on the weighted vest and flipping some tires, running stairs, hitting things with a sledge hammer, etc.

  11. Love trail running!! And when you wanna take a break you're all by yourself in a peaceful, tranquil place...I can't wait for it to warm up again.

    You can also stop and piss anywhere. Score one for man.

    Forget the weather. I'm going this Sunday or Monday in the Shenandoah mountains.
