Those HIDDEN FAT SPOTS!!!

For those that are cutting this is probably the biggest problem that you face and you don't even know it. Now like most people I sometimes judge my progress by always looking at my abs. The problem is that your abs may not change one bit but you still keep losing weight in areas around you body. Your abs are the last place that it will burn fat and to assess your progress you need to understand how the body burns body fat. Basically the body burns fat from the outside in. It will protect the vital organs and keep energy reserves closer to your core than on your limbs. This is one reason you can have ripped arms but still have a nice tire around your waist. Now the tricky part is to understand WHEN you've hit a wall. Most people tihnk "my abs are the same, I'm not losing fat". Well thats far from the truth. The amount of fat that is on your inner thights, butt, lower back, etc... is much more substantial and can take a very long time to burn off so you should try and look in those areas too. Your abs should be the last place you look until those other areas are fairly lean. Just some things for you to think about....

Its more of a mental challenge than anything. Your instincts tell you to look at your abs, but you really shouldn't unless your failry lean all the way around. There is a peroid in time where it looks like your stalled out but your actually losing it in those spots you don't look at (if your diet is right ;) )

There's always liposuction baby! :D

Good info Bobo. Very logical. It was always put to me that you will first lose the fat where you last put it on. Like you said, outer to in.

and most people when they look in the mirror, aren't looking at their back.

for guys especially, there is a good amount of fat in the lower back.

Hey Bobo, what's your opinion on Lipoderm for these spots (ususally the abs) ?

I think it will help but you have to fairly lean to begin with. If your 12-15% and above and start applying it, I doubt you will see much. I have used it and it helped but the problem is that it works best when you reduce calories more and are failry lean to being with. That combination could have negative results if your not careful once use is discontinued. I think people reduce calroeis to much to begin with but that is another issue...

How true.....In my several attempts to cut, my limbs always get thinner and i always retain fat in the torso (abs, lower back, love handles, chest, butt). I know what my problem is....DIET......I try eating clean, but never stick with it. I'm always in the "tomorrow is promised to nobody and live a little" mentality. One of these days if I ever have any extra $$, which I seriously doubt.....I'm gonna have to give Bobo a call. Until then I guess I'll just be a fatty.

Yup.....the last place I lose fat is on the sides of my belly button, and my lower back/love handles.

Speaking of other places that lose fat, I know I'm getting lean when I sit in a hard chair and I can't get comfortable because my ass has lost the cushion.lol

This is a very helpful thread for me. I was getting so upset that ive been on a diet for a few weeks now and seen no lower ab fat loss. But when i checked my chest has lost all its fat and my ass is starting to lose some. Maybe the abs are next. I was around 9% or 10%bf to start

LOL.

Or you're getting too fat for your ass when you are 275 and the ass still gets sore :P
