The importance of cardio for anyone is up to each said individual. The optimal frequency and type of cardio performed is also an individual preference, as everyone should use what works best for THEM.
It completely varies by the individual, diet, goals, etc. Maybe give some more information about yourself. For example, I do zero cardio currently and rely on my diet to keep fat off. But, my job is very physical and is more or less low intensity cardio all day. In the winter, while at school, I usually add in some HITT in the morning and/or 30mins of cardio on my off days at the gym.
