4 day split question

i came across an article for a 4 day split that suggested workouts be done on monday-thursday, with 3 rest days inbetween
my question is, why would this be more beneficial when compared to a standard monday wednesday friday saturday split?
wouldnt the latter be less taxing on the CNS?
or am i completely wrong...

I have no idea why someone would think this is the most beneficial way to train. Now if that were your only option because of schedule (work, etc...) then you would do what you had to and adjust.
If given the option, there's no way I would choose this type of split.
