shoulder pain (rotator cuff?)

    I hurt my shoulder, not exactly sure how. It hurts to lift my arms up straight to my sides. Its probably the rotator cuff.

    Should I still hit the bench press tomorrow? As Im lying on my bed it doesnt seem to hurt doing the bench press movement with no weight.

    No, take time off.

    It could be your rotator cuff, I don't know. Only a doctor would know. But I do know there are many parts of your shoulder so it could be anything.

    Take your rest, cuz u dont want to mess it up more.

  3. I'd stay completely off the bench. I've hurt both shoulders several times in the past. Although I never went to the doctor for it, I recovered by doing the following:
    1. Rotator cuff exercises. Here are some links:

    You can find more through google. After a few weeks I moved on to
    2. Rotator cuff exercises + push ups, then
    3. Rotator cuff exercises + push ups + bench

    I sprinkle in rotator cuff exercises into my weekly workout plan as a preventive measure.

    However, I'm not a Dr. and don't have as much lifting experience as RenegadeRows, but still hope the links and my previous experience help. Just so you know, it took me 2-3 months to get back to benching each time. I hope you recover soon.

  4. Thanks. I listened to renegade and didnt bench. But now im about an hour from going to the gym and I wanna hit it up benching. My shoulder is not 100% still but it feels much better. I dont think it is as serious as yours was SilverSurfer. Ill let you know how it goes.

  5. Well I just finished benching. I was proud of my workout I got the most reps on weights than ever before. And I got my max for 1 rep again but it felt much easier, still could not get it twice though.

    But now I definitely feel my shoulder hurting. **** sucks again its not too bad but still hurts. Tomorrows legs so I'll be ok for that but no shoulders this week and no bench again most likely.
