its best to take it post workout for one of the two. The other dose at whatever time is convenient, its best to take on an empty stomach then have a meal with at least 30g of carbs (maybe a good bit more depending on you) 15 minutes later.
I take my post workout dose right when I am done with the workout, go shower, and then have my post workout drink.
