What made me gain 3 pounds this week?

IntensePump

Board Supporter
I'm in a middle of a cut, and out of NOWHERE this week I weighed in 3lbs heavier. However, I did start taking 3 additional supplements starting this past Wednesday before my weigh in Saturday (Today). :wtf:

The supplents were...

1. Lean Extreme
2. Super Enzymes
3. Super Antioxidants

That's it, everything else in my routine/diet has been consistent as could be. One of these had to have done it.

Any takers?? :stick:

it could be water retention, almost anything. no variation in time or bowel movements? i'd be worried if you are still up next weigh in

Yeah, it's almost gotta be water, but I'm at a loss at which one of these would have caused it.

Or another thought...Perhaps the digestive enzymes enabled my body to take in more calories from the food I ate?

Anybody in the "know" on this?

This is why I think people should lay off the scale when dieting and just look at the mirror. People start trippin out even when they may not look any different.

just wait till the lean extreme kicks in. very effective supplement, imo.

I would agree that frequent weighing while cutting can hinder you from a mental aspect. However, I think weekly, consistent weigh-ins are important.

On a consistent program, weekly weigh-ins are useful in determining plateau's where diet/exercise adjustments may need to be made.

In no way am I freaking out over my weekly Saturday morning weight-in this week, however, my curiousity is peeked. I think it is everybody's responsibility to strive to do their best in learning how different compounds react in their body. Not only for safety reasons but for the best overall strategic planning in any nutrition/exercise program.

I feel you. I agree as well, but 3 pounds can be gained very easily. Do you weigh in first thing in the morning?

Its likely water. What is your diet like? Any "hidden" gems in there that could cause fluid retention?

Yep, first thing every Saturday morning I weigh in.

That's a good point though, 3 pounds is a lot easier to put on than people think.

It's just weird because I've used this cutting program off and on for years and I can't remember this ever happening.

Well my diet is as consistent as can be. I have every meal written out for the entire week and I follow it to a tee. I've been doing this for years.

Nothing changed this week from the norm. I usually either lose weight or stay the same (maybe gain a half pound at the worst). But the 3 pound increase makes me want to investigate a bit.

I have a feeling it is something to do with the enzymes.

3 pounds...dude i go up or down like 5-6lbs from when i wake up until i go to bed some days..its definetly not the products your using.

I understand what you're saying but I'm not talking about a daily fluctuation. I'm talking about 3 years of using the same cutting strategy and experiencing something for the very first time after adding these 3 supplements.

yes. yes. yes. yes. yes.

when's the last time you pooped?

LoL, ok, I think I get the drift... nobody thinks it's any of the supplements. Good thought on the poop schedule but nothing out of the ordinary. :dump:

Thank you all for your input.

Yeah, its pretty easy to gain a larger quantity of weight from water than you think. I usually eat sushi and drink pomegranate juice as a small cheat meal for lunch on sundays. If I weigh myself on monday I'm up 5lbs! I no longer weigh myself on mondays....haha

I hear ya... My cheat meal is on Saturday night so I have the whole week until the following Saturday morning to let that cheat meal work its way out...
