There is patents on LongJack (LJ100, ActivAli, LongJax). I was wondering if there was any on HGW?

Those patents are on extraction technique, not the herb.

You cannot patent an herb, only MAYBE a particular use on that herb (which would be impossible to enforce) or the extraction technique.

Thanks

So you are saying there is no Icariin Extract Patent?

As far as I know, there is no "special" technique patented for the extraction of icariins.

Extraction techniques are usually limited to a handful of established protocols unless you are dealing with an oddball herbals constituent that requires something extra to be removed from the plant sans all the stuff you don't want.

I don't know for sure, but it appears Icariin(s) can be isolated and purified without any "special" procedures as evidenced by the 50% and higher extracts available.

Correct...and funny enough, a lot of "extraction technique" involves nothing more than soaking ground up herb in solvent then filtering out the planet material (cellulose).

Higher concentration extracts are trickier, as are extracting for certain fractions/compounds.

Only if you promise to do a bulk Hexane/Toluene combo. That would ROCK!

Can I dress in overalls without a shirt, dancing down the street to banjo music?

I've been wondering about the patent on Arachidonic Acid, how does Molecular Nutritions patent work? Can't a company like NOW foods just sell a Arachidonic Acid and say its not for bodybuilding.
