20 yr old dude needs advice...

So, this is the deal. I'm looking to grow both in strength and size, cos I'm into fighting/martial arts as well. I've been told to try out 19-nordiol and that stuff but have absolutely no clue about it. So if someone has had a cycle that worked fine for you (read: low side effects), then maybe I could try it too?
 
not something hormonal like 19-nor, thats not the answer yet. How long have you been working out? What sort of routine? how much you weigh today?
 
It's a precursor tp the a steroid. You're hear this alot on these board when you're your age; you don't need hormonal stuff. Eat tons of food. Lift heavy weights, focusing on squats and dead lifts. Creatine monohydrate is a good possible and safe addition. You not a kid (we get a lot 17 year olds that ask the similar questions), but I honestly believe that at 20, you should still be making your own gains.

You can make a lot of gains by eating cleanly every 2 or 3 hours, and making sure your training is in check. Do that and don't look at horonal stuff until your older and have plateaued

I started training since I turned 16. But haven't trained consistently. I usually have 4 strength workouts and 2 boxing workouts during the week. But lately I've hardly done anything due to illness and renovating my gym. I weigh 165-170 lbs.

To be honest bud, it sounds like your in a hurry to get back some of the muscle you might have lost and to make significant gains quick. Relax my man, you've got all the time in the world. Is you diet in check (if you want to grow, it needs to be something you think about during the run of a day) and are you doing squats and deadlift with heavy weight?

Doing heavy weights on bench and squats, but deadlifts i go a bit easier on. Can't push myself too much there, cos I almost broke my back as a kid. Not pushing myself when it comes to deadlifts.
 
19-nordiol is an old school prohormone. It converts to nandrolone (deca), and basically....well.....sucks. Taken standalone will kill your libido and do little for size and strength.

With your illness and inconsistent training, I would recommend waiting until you've gotten better, and had a few weeks/months of solid training under your belt before you start f*cking around with your endocrine system.

That's fair. You can make good gains without heavy deads, it's just a little slower. Just make sure you focus heavy weights with multijoint exercises (ie presses as opposed to flies). If your diet is good, you'll make great gains.
