My gf is getting ready for police academy and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for supplements to help her gain strength and some muscle mass before she leaves in Jan. She works out 4-5 days a week and does cardio a minimum of 5 days. She follows a diet similar to mine. Any supplement suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, I might suggest an AI if she wanted to go that route, can be effective for gaining muscle. Otherwise I would advise probably just upping her protein intake from what it is, and possible going into lower rep ranges for more of a strength routine (ie. 4-6).

just grad from an academy and i would advice against any supplements beyond protien , multi , joint support. the smaller people make it through the academy alot easier than big guys, its a ton of running and calisthenics, pushups pullups that sort of thing.

Its not for me its for my gf. She is having problems with push-ups. Most she can do is 7. Was looking for something to help boost HER strength.

Maybe try some bulk BCAA's or Leucine at about 15-20 grams a day; I've noticed that my strength goes up steadily when I use them and my calories remain right around maintenance.

I've been cutting about a month now and have been using about 15 g's of Leucine a day centered around my workouts and have yet to notice much of a decrease in strength. Good stuff.

what is her supplement background? The simple answer to adding a little strength to one's workout if diet and training are in check would be to add creatine, just start with mono at first, it is cheap and generally effective.

That said, MAN Body Octane is a great addition to help increase aerobic and anaerobic endurance. I find it very useful in my triathlon training during the summers, plus the beta alanine can be beneficial to strnegth as well

Best of luck to her

She is already on creatine. She also takes amino acids and a multi-vitamin. She also supplements her diet with protein. She is just frustrated with her gains and has hit a plateau. I just didn't want to put her on a regimen that I would follow before I consulted some more people on here. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

how about creatine - there is a girl in my office who claims to have used it in the past with (for her) great results.
