It interferes with the ability fo the body to break-down many products....thus increasing the amount that can be absorbed and used. SciFit includes it in many of their products. Other supplement companies will sometimes include it in a formulation as well. Think of it as something (in effect) similar to bioperine.

I think it's a chemical that occurs naturally in grapefruit juice. There are several prescription medications that strongly advise against administering with grapefruit juice because it increases the amount absorbed to dangerously high levels.

interesting artical... so what it is saying is ... that if you take supps with grapefruit it may cause too high of concentrated level to be in your body... so does that mean the DHB product is the safer product to use???

I read it as the DHB and the grapefruit juice will eventually exert the same effects on the supplements/drugs and safety is only a concern when combining it with certain things.
