What is the purpose of taking Citrulline Malate on off days?

Hi,

I am curious what is the purpose of taking CM on off days? I've been told that it is standard to take 7g a day divided into two 3.5g doses, but before I blow some more hard-earned cash, I'd like to know what the CM is doing for me when I'm not working out.

Is it just for saturation purposes?
 
No, for recovery purposes. It speeds things up by removing waste product from the muscle and improving blood flow.

If you're just after the performance edge, you can just take it pre-workout. 3-5gr will do it that way. I even feel 1-2gr.
