Licorice root powder

I bought these green tea caffeine/egcg pills from costco and just noticed it has licorice root powder as one of it's constituents. I remember hearing or reading that licorice is abundant in phytoestrogens. can any one confirm this? And why would they put licorice root in a fat burner/energy pill. Will this stuff make me want to watch chick flicks, or read romance novels... hmm

Probably contains Glycyrrhetinic acid. Which regulats your cortisol levels.

It's put in a few topical fatloss gels. Like targeX. Alot of people report high BP when using it.
