    Protein Bars

I am working 2 to 3 double shifts a week for the foreseeable future.

What I need to know is which is the best meal replacement bar available as meals are not always possible.

I am not interested in making my own and quality is more important than cost.

    Thanks in advance!

I really haven't shopped around, but as far as low carb I tend to go for Met-Rx Protein Plus bars. Tha Mud Pie Fusion flavor is a far cry better than tha other ones.

The Oh Yeah! bars definitely have the best taste, and at 26gr protein. Fat is a little high, 19gr, but no trans fat.31 gr carbs, 310 calories. The choclate bar tates almost exactly like a Baby Ruth.

I've had both of them. Try the Oh Yeah bar. Seriously, it is the best tasting. I've had everyone made...(you gotta keep something with you on 12 hour shift, 6pm-6am....)

POWER CRUNCH trumps all in terms of taste, but protein content is a bit lacking. Otherwise it's nutritionally acceptable.

The most worthwhile protein bars are complete protein diet series of optimum nutrition.

They contains 20g carbs/20g protein/4g fat without any sugar and they cheap.

The best flavor is toasted coconut.

EAS makes a low carb protein bar and so does payday :P

If you have time to buy and pack protein bars I would still suggest, even though you probably don't care, to make a tuna sandwhich using real oat or wheat bread. Easy to carry/store and you'll get solid protein without all the other stuff in protein bars.

ISS makes the Oh Yeah bar. Everybody has an opinion, but the bottom line is how they taste to you. If you see them, try one.

Haven't seen that one....I've tried at least a hundred of them. Paid anywhere from $1-$3, and I'm still eating the OH Yeah Chocolate peanut bars.

Oh yeah bars contains sugars, EAS carb sense contains 7g fat and 4.5g from them are saturated fat. It's alot of fat for protein bar.

Rockin roll bar of labrada contains 16g fat it's alot too.

A personal favorite of mine is the Odyssey Bar by Premier Nutrition. The caramel nut is good tasting. Not candy bar but still good. The ingredients look to be pretty solid also.

i have tried a bunch of bars. i work at a gnc. so i get them for really cheap. i like the big 100. but the best tasting bar hands down is the promax double fudge brownie. it really tates like a brownie. 6 grams fat. 20 grams good protein. 30 something carbs and 280 calories. very good. plus it is only $1.60. one of the cheaper bars.

Not only do they taste amazing but they have great content. A lot of the other bars are complete crap. I remember reading one or two things about how most of the protein that is supposed to be in the bars are not.

Those are tasty (muscle sandwich) but the nutritional content sucks. That metrx bar with the kinda crubly cookie bar texture and the vanilla icing on them are pretty ridiculous, is that the mudpie? Anyway I've also eaten just about every bar made and those are soo good I constantly hesistate before buying them because I have a feeling they're just lying on the label. Oh yeah bars of all flavor are awesome too. Labrada makes a few good ones as well, and the detour line of bars isn't bad either.
