Flaxseed oil and estrogen
A Dr told me once to watch the amount of flaxseed oil I take because it can raise estrogen levels, so I just stopped taking it completely. I instead use fish oils, but I want to start using the stuff again, I am not going to drop my fish oil or sesathin (for now). So is there any evidence that this true? If so how much is too much? Sorry if this has been asked before, but there is no search button.

Yeah, Bobo has to re-index the board so it's broke right now...
http://www.brinkzone.com/qanda5.html - 2nd question down. Ask the doctor to show you studies on healthy male adults where flax raises estrogen.

good for hairlines..
I was worried about this, too. more for limiting tesosterone levels.. i don't know for sure, i just remember reading and article about a University study that suggested (one study, remember) that whole flax seed intake actually helped reduce or stop hairline recession, due to interfering with DHT in the scalp. as we all know, DHT is converted from test.. so lowering test levels may effectively also lower DHT levels, right?
that was my concern. i like how flax helps hold together my hemp/brown rice flour muffins. i grind it with a mini-prep food processor, which has a dull side, not unlike a coffee grinder.

I think your Doctors wrong. Just to be cautious id take it just one serving a day and mix it up with other oils.

Flax oil can raise estrogen levels in men, ive read it several times. I wouldnt use it knowing that. Its the lignans that do it from what I remember.
Every bottle should come with a free skirt and heels , Maybe then men would steer away from it

According to this, flax seed has "possible" estrogen-like effects but flaxseed oil does not.

Flax seeds contain lignans, which does have a weak estrogenic affect.
The oil will still contain some but a very small amount.
TBH the amount in either the seed or oil will not make any difference to hormonal balance unless you are consuming huge quantities daily.

with a quick check I could not find the post. sounds like it would have a slight clomid effect. clomid and nolva are weak estrogens.
