    Cardiorespiratory enhancers?

What are some supplements that would help increase cardiovascular performance? Increase oxygen utilization? Increased red blood cells? Etc.?

Citrulline Malate will increase cardiovascular performance. Both anecdotal and scientific research supports this:

“CM ingestion resulted in a significant reduction in the sensation of fatigue, a 34% increase in the rate of oxidative ATP production during exercise, and a 20% increase in the rate of phosphocreatine recovery after exercise, indicating a larger contribution of oxidative ATP synthesis to energy production.?

Bendahan D, Mattei JP, Ghattas B, Confort-Gouny S, Le Guern ME, Cozzone PJ. (2002). Citrulline/malate promotes aerobic energy production in human exercising muscle. Br J Sports Med. Aug; 36(4):282-9.

It should help. The recommended dosage is 6 grams (3 grams, 2 times per day [one time being 15-30 minutes pre-workout]). I'll see if I can find any other good stuff for you.

It would probably be best. You could mix it with other free-form amino acids and be fine though.

Also, I was curious as to what supplements/pro-hormones NOT to take while trying to improve cardio function/muscular endurance, etc.?

Readily available, might be worth looking at -
cordyceps fungus (can find in Cytodyne's 40+)
Ashwagandha (increases red blood cell count)

CM really does work, cardio (running, heavy bag, etc) is much easier for me with 3-6 gms CM. I also recover faster on CM. If you want more than CM, and have the cash, check out Body Octane.

Some good cardiorespiratory supplements include rhodiola rosea, ALCAR and forskolin.

Ditto on these. Rhodiola in particular is pretty amazing. All three of those mixed into a stack and capped and taken about 4 times per day will really improve cardio efficiency a lot.

I've been using it for most of the summer during field work and hiking around this year has been SOOOO much easier than usual. I do some pretty strenuous stuff by anyone's standards..3-10 miles at a time with 1500 to 2000 foot gains and losses in elevation, so I really do think the claims of Rholdiola's hypoxia buffering abilities are true. Normally I "gasp" for air a lot but not this year.

Stacked with CM..it's all a winning legal combo.

This is cool to hear. I'm trying to train up for my coming boot camp experience, and anything that'll help me get my cadio vascular to it's pinnacle would be great. Obviously, I won't be aloud to use these in boot camp, but once out I may continue my use and maintain a higher cardiovascular fitness standard. All this news sounds very promising!
