I recently fractured my fibula at my ankle. The doctor referred to it a as minor fracture. Do y'all think taking a IGF-1 supplement would help speed up the repair process?

Some food for thought that I believe would help you out...

http://www.betterbones.com/bonefracture/speedhealing.pdf Great Lit Review and has decent factors to avoid and plenty of alternatives

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/30/sports/igf-1-has-long-been-banned-as-performance-enhancer.html?_r=0 Aticle reviewing its banned use currently

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15591825 Study done on rats, take it how you please

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22649422 free Study examining Low IGF-1 in older men fracture risk

Sadly no true studies on human subjects I found directly cited IGF-1 as being a "True" GH. It has boosted those properties in animals and measurements have been taken, but the human counterpart or the research is very spotty. Few studies on older men and how it may reduce osteoporosis and fall related fractures, but I couldnt find much proof on its ability to speed Osteoblast and Peritoneum function. Hopefully someone else will chime in soon enough.

Thanks! Great info. Much have read the first article yesterday and that got me thinking about IGF-1 supplement. I was thinking of it like a muscle. Best repair while sleeping and a IGF1 product def does help me with deep sleep

Those articles are on injecting igf1 through peptide use and not on increasing natural igf1 production through supplementation.

And nytimes is not a valid source

Yea, and I def. see what leads you to consider it as an option. For everyone that claims placebo, theres someone who saw great results from it lol. I say shoot for it, the side effects that have long term consequences havent been observed yet so its about as bad or good as any company with a prop. blend lls.

Yeah thats the distinction i was making. Thats like comparing DAA to injecting test. One is a supplement aimed at increasing natural production whilst the other is direct injecting of the hormone.

So it being banned is irrelevant if its supplements that increase natural output.

Just clearing that up for the OP :D

I have no idea what this sentence means but Cissus has the potential to increase osteoblast formation and increase IGF in bone which is exactly what you want when dealing with a fracture.

You want to try and find RC IGF be my guest it is probably bunk though and nothing is going to naturally raise your IGF levels to an appreciable level as would legitimate IGF-1.
