ALCAR
L-Tyrsoine
Gluconurolactone
Betaine
Caffeine Anhydrous
Choline Citrate

Basically, I need to know if these substances are soluble and stable in water. Where can I go to find out?

The caff and the tyrosine are not very water soluble.

Thanks man. I just finished brewing up the concotion this morning though. It seems to dissolve fine. The final product is:

Serving size: 1 level tablespoon
ALCAR: 3.2g
Tyrosine: 2.9g
Glucuronolactone: 545mg
Betaine: 545mg
Choline Citrate: 545mg
Caffeine: 78mg
Flavor: 545mg

Plus I mixed in some B-complex. I used sugar-free tropical punch koolaid for the flavor. I'm thinking of going with Alpha-GPC when I reformulate this. Home brewing just got a whole lot more fun with my new scale!!

yeah, homebrew is a blast!

If you acidify the solution, it will help with water solubility, but if it's working like that, I'd just keep doing what your doing.

Well, the first ingredient in the Koolaid is citric acid so that may have helped. I was wondering if you have any tips to help with flavoring. The koolaid doesn't seem to work too well. I was thinking of trying some Crystal Light next time or maybe a BSL flavor system. The sourness of the ALCAR kinda messed up the fruit punch flavor (should've gone with Lemonade) and the B-vitamins contributed to making it have a slight hint of vomit flavor.

Is it just one particular B-vitamin that tastes bad or it is all of them?

The B's are hard to hide, except in colloidal suspension like a protein shake. I hate to endorce it but le'mage has flavors I believe (customer service sux) but the crystal light or lemonaid or lemon flavor instant tea may help. The citric acid is a great solubilizier, a weak organic acid, but great for this kind of thing. What about gatoraid?

Citric acid, vitamin C and a citrus flavoring (lemonade, orange, grapefruit) will hide most chemical tastes.

U think the lemelange customer service is crap? I have had nothing but great service from them.

Also, ALCAR is fat soluble I think.

I have had trouble with them. Got a package with multiple oils and solvents in it, and got some sodium percarbonate too. Well the bagy was open and everything had been contaminated with the oxidizer, it was very staticy on all the other products I ordered. Even contacted the owner and she wouldn't make it right. Obviously it was not packaged well, and I couldn't use the products internally and my laudry booster was spread out all through the package, and it was all wasted. I won't deal with them again, that's bad customer service.

I tried my mix for the first time yesterday. All I can say is that all day I felt great. I didn't notice any rapid energy boost or anything, but by the time evening came, I did notice how good I had been feeling. My friend as well (who also tested it) I noticed had had energy all day and been in a good mood. Which for him is pretty amazing because he eats like **** and his energy and mood are like a rollercoster. I just tried a double dose to see how it works that way.

Reformulation ideas:
Rhodiola rosea- can anyone tell me how it tastes?
Ascorbic acid
Vinpocetine
Huperzine
Ginkgo
Alpha GPC (or maybe I'll just go with straight up lecithin since it has better bioavailability)

Well, I started out trying to make something that was better yet cheaper than GO! and I have. Now it is turning into a monster. Too bad the only flavor it comes in is Sour Tropical Vomit.

I think just about every herbal powder is the worst tasting powder ever created. I've tasted longjack, horny goat weed, maca, and boswellia and they all tasted equally foul.

You could always cap a few of the terrible powders. If you are mixing it yourself it won't really change it up if you just cap 1 or 2.

I'll probably do this for a separate project. The drink I've been working on needs to be all in one, simple enough to just scoop out and take. The reason being is that I'm gonna be selling it to some of my clients.

If you put lecithin in the mix, it will not mix well in water. You will have a bunch of little yellow balls floating at the top like duckweed. And after you drinki it, you'll have little yellow booger looking things stuck to the side of the glass.
