Betaine Anhydrous is also known as TMG, and TriMethylGlycine. I use 1 to 2 grams TMG every day. TMG is a methyl donor which promotes healthy homocysteine and SAMe levels, and seems to positively influence mood. In the liver, TMG helps metabolize fat and increases glutathione levels. After giving up a methyl group, it becomes the nutrient DMG. This should always be taken with anti-homocysteine nutrients: B6, B12, folic acid and choline.

It is avilable in bulk (e.g., at BAC, SP, NB, etc) and is dirt cheap.

Oh, by the way, I am using DAA for the first time, and I am intentionally dosing the TMG with the DAA. I am also dosing 1/4 tsp of sodium bicarbonate with the DAA, hoping to help offset potential stomach issues. So far, it seems to be working.

swanson actually has betapower betaine(TMG, seems to be the more appropriate term)
5 bucks for 90 caps = 45 servings with 2 caps being 500mg

i probably wont be able to tell the difference between natural/synthetic TMG
but betapower claims its TMG(natural betaine) is 99% in purity
and you cant beat that price

cant wait to see my bench go up ;)
