Waxy Maize mass gainer

My mass gainer uses waxy maize as the carbohydrate source (76g's). Waxy maize is a simple carb, and has the same glycemic index gram for gram as sugar. It seems to me that it will behave no different than pure sugar once ingested. Is this true? Just a marketing scam?

I'm not a believer in it. Over priced corn starch?? There's really no proven evidence that a post workout meal has any beneficial effect. The importance of meal timing may be overstated. Hit your macros in 3 meals or 6 is really doesn't matter as long as you get the nutrients in your body. That magical window of eating right after you workout may be a bunch of bunk.
