BCAA's in powder form vs. BCAA's in ON whey protein - What's the difference?

I have always wondered this...if I use "Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard" whey protein powder should I still use a seperate BCAA supplement as well? The tub says it has 5.5 grams of BCAA's per serving already. I don't want to waste money on BCAA powder if the protein powder has what I need.

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light.

Powder form are free form amino acids
The BCAAs in protein are what actually constitute the protein. All protein has BCAA

Just use myofusion or XF whey...supplement with a BCAA product if you are on a cut. Easy peasy

Basically what he said ^ Protein is a polypeptide which is a chain of amino acids linked together to form a chain. The body needs to digest protein which takes time and energy. Free form amino acids are ready to go. That is not to discredit protein as it is essential in your diet regardless!
