I've been using gelatinized maca powder for 15 days now. I choose gelatinized because a study that was done which proved maca improved libido after 8 weeks stated that gelatinized maca was used NOT raw maca, gelatinized is said to be more pure and absorbable. Anyway, onto my question. So apparently maca is supposed to raise libido, help with anxiety and improve mood, but it seems like it's having the opposite affect on me. I feel like I'm always overwhelmed and that it's kinda like it's hard to breath, my anxiety is through the roof! And my libido has not improved and it seems like it has decreased it. I am using the bulk powder not the pills, I began dosing at 1 tablespoon and eventually moved up to 2 and i felt like i was gonna have a heart attack, but i read that if you ingest to much that it can have the these effects. But now Im only taking 1 teaspoon everymorning on an empty stomach before breakfast and things have not gotten better. I also read the report of one woman claiming she had terrible mood swings, anxiety, and depressive bouts for her first three weeks and then it all "balanced out" and she felt great after. So, Im 15 days into this and i really want to improve my libido so i'm not ready to give up. Has anyone ever had these symptoms and tried to "ride out" the negatives and if so, did you experience good results? anyone with any good advice would be highly appreciated!!
