Been reading up on(ALA) and Acetyl- (ALCAR) and looking to start both of these for significant anti-aging and cognition improving properties, as well as fat loss if that occurs.
Would be interested in feedback from others taking both of these and the type of benefits you have experienced.
Is around 1gram of each first thing in the morning each day a good dosage?

I take both.
Can't say I notice anything significant that I can tell you. I take for its potent antioxidant properties. I dose ALCAR high.
With ALCAR, I take roughly 3-4gr - two to three times I day. I love the stuff. I'm freaking a little that NP is OOS on it.
Sorry, I was speaking about the ALA. I dose it 800-1000mg divided. I take it sometimes without, sometimes with food. Sometimes I dose it along with my ALCAR or with my creatine. I've read it can help with the absorption of creatine.
The ALCAR, I feel with every dose. That's why I love it so much. Within about 15min it has a great cognitive effect. The jury is still out on the body composition effects.
I honestly can't say that I have.
The combination is great, for cognitive enhancement, and some fat loss, nutrient partitioning.. I would dose on an empty stomach twenty minutes or so before meals. 2-500 mg ala, 500-100 mg alcar per dose. I did it 2-3 times a day and leaned out nicely, felt great, skin stayed clear too.
