Bulk Hawthorn Berry

So I'm in the market for some hawthorn berry and I come across a 1 lb. organic bulk bag of the whole berries, European pharma grade, or so it states. Can I just throw the berries in a spice grinder and cap my own hawthorn? It was a hellava deal at $7.50.
