getting to the bottom of 1-carboxy as a sleep supplement

I am not getting enough sleep, and people say this is the sup to take when your not getting enough sleep. They say it makes them dream all night. But I thought that no-dream sleep was also important. Could this stuff where me down? I would like to hear some experience stories.

I'm not sure about that. I think you may have it twisted around a little bit. I'm pretty sure the period of your deepest sleep (REM sleep) is where you dream the most. This is the sleep that you WANT.

This is what I have heard to, people with sleep deprivation from too little sleep do not get dreams as often.

The 1-Carboxy would probably do you good. I haven't tried it, I usually use melatonin, but I might give this a try if it works that good.

You're correct... You want dreams.

the only problem i get with 1-carboxy is it seems as if im dreaming all night and the night gos by slow.
like when not useing 1-carboxy i fall a sleep and wake up and the 8 hours flew by.

Hmm... my understanding is contrary. I never did sleep structure, touched on it briefly in physiology...

I understood that deep sleep is deeper than REM sleep and is where HGH is released, not REM.

The bromomelatonin patent (X-dreams) contains details of sleep structure and who in partic. this and benzos alter sleep structure. Its on the web.

Vivid dreams do not necessarily mean dreaming loads but that you are remembering your dreams. I have no doubt that 1-carboxy can alter sleep structure though. What you need is the stage in sleep that max. HGH is released and how that release is influenced by increasing dopamine in the brain.... complex

FWIW...on Wikipedia it says that naerly 50% of your sleeptime GH secretion is during the 3rd and 4th REM sleep stages.

Also taken from Wiki...
"Non-REM sleep may be an anabolic state marked by physiological processes of growth and rejuvenation of the organism's immune, nervous, muscular, and skeletal systems (with some exceptions). Wakefulness may perhaps be viewed as a cyclical, temporary, hyperactive catabolic state during which the organism acquires nourishment and reproduces."

Seems we have a contradiction here...good old wikipedia

1 carboxy does NOT make you go to sleep. take it when you are tired and it helps with GH. but it actually keeps me awake sometimes.

somnidren is best otc sleep aid i have tried, but i like it pre-workout too and it seems to go very quick dosing 2x day. i think some combination of somnidren/1-carboxy would be ideal.- and make the somnidren last longer.

No thats what I said. Non-REM is GH release. Interesting definition of being awake!

from my experience with 1-c, I didnt find it to knock me out, I found that when taken on an empty stomach, I was able to fall asleep smoother (if that makes sense) and I slept better during the night

Ive red that different stages of sleep are "prime time" fo hormones on different sites. I think this'll be a fun product to cycle for a while. I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone who didn't already have a good nutritional base though. Sounds like it would definately burn throuhg some nutrients.
