should we worry?

reading some sites that say casein protein is strongly related with cancer growth...but also animal protein increases breast cancer. here was something in particular i read:

"casein protein will kill you in time. it messes with the tp53 gene (the guardian gene wich induces suicide in cells that develope strange features such as gene mutation)"

which made me start looking. theres a bunch of sites on google that support it so i wont list anything in particular, but just wondering what everyone thinks about this topic

everything i say is hypothetical
Indeed.

Caesin should be present in whey, it may be a bit hydrolized but its still there. It might be removed with the curds. Caesin is the stuff that surrounds fat and keeps it in solution.

Whey on the whole is considered to have lowered cancer risk (over meat protein) or even preventive (!?). Unless you're drinking heaps of milk, wouldn't worry and in that case the excess calcium is more likely to be a concern.

I am skeptical, remember the poison is in the dose.
And what doesnt cause cancer these days anyhow?

i hope this is not true i use casein every night 3 years and running. i need to go check this out thanks

yea, it probably depends on the dose. but one article (forgot the one) said they were able to start and stop cancer growth with only casein protein as easily as turning on a light switch... i was like uh-oh.

how longs casein been out? id be curious to see if there is anyone who has used it since the beginning to tell us "hey, im fine"...or...."dont do it"

i just think protein would be one of the last places people would look as to a carcinogen, and its not even like we can just cut out the powder... theres still milk and cottage cheese... prolly more. my grandpa is in the acute phase of his skin cancer, bad bad stuff. never wana end up like that.

How long have people been drinking milk and eating cheese?

Thank you Dsade! I was gonna make the same comment. People freak out too much about this type of thing. Just about anything at high amounts will cause cancer or other health risks. Just be smart.

This notion was initiated by T. Colin Campbell. His studies, conducted in China, were flawed. Cancer is mutagenic process casein does not cause cells to mutate. In fact some studies indicate that protein, whey in particular, helps prevent cancer. Below is a good link for those who want to know more: Invalid Link Removed
