Older Guy with Supp Questions

Hello and thanks for the info in advance.

About me - long time lifter. Have been between 220 - 170 lean lbs at different stages. In my younger and heavier years I could put up a lot of weight. Now I have been enjoying a mixture of routines throughout the year. I like five day splits and going heavy weight with low reps. I also like sports training - plyometrics, cleans, stuff like that. I've tried all the trendy workouts - MaxOT, HST, B4L, some from ABC and made plenty of my own and with trainers.

For nutrition - when I get good results it's from eating good food plain and simple. I use creatine (or superpump or whatever the flavor of the month), vitamin C & D, coffee. It's not hard for me to lose fat and get ripped at all. I actually think it's kinda easy. I'm more interested in keeping and gaining strength as I get older. I never want to have to quit or slow down.

I'm 37 now and I want to check out data on test boosters or PHs from the experts. I want to do it proper or not at all. I have seen literally hundreds of supps come and go over the years and am not sure about any of the data out there on the net. Something tells me there is a lot of crap that goes by and it's hard to tell what's placebo effect with results. Is it true that it's all a bunch of crap unless you get real gear?

I have a box of iForce Dymethazine and an old box of IDS Mass Tabs sitting here. I've never eaten them because I'm afraid they will be a downer or a waste of time. Does the fact that I'm old mean that it makes sense to try one? Should I just get real gear if I can?

Tx fellas

Do some research on the 2 PH's you have and you actually would really enjoy them. I am pretty sure of that.

lol at you saying you are an old man at 37

You definitely can do well on PHs actually maybe better than younger guys. Do a search on each of those as was said above and I think you will be happy with the results.

EDIT I just saw you are 6' 3" and 186lbs. Personally I would hold off a while before using the PHs

you should check out a natural GH booster like
GHenerate or i-gh-1

Thanks guys, I will check out the threads on GH boosters.

Hi Crowler, regarding my current size, I'm certain I can put on weight and strength, and I've been up and down many times. Mainly wondering what the different supps can do these days and if it may be the right age to benefit from them. What is the right size, strength and bf% to try PHs? Can they not help an athlete looking to keep a certain size but gain strength?

I am 37 also.... my personal advice is for any gear(aas or ph), ideally you want to be in single digits BF, for many reasons(aromitisation being a big one).

I'm 6% with a caliper right now. My current workout is mid way through the scivation cut diet v4. My strength is down a bit from April when I was 203 and about 9%. I lost some muscle (and fat) weight due to a broken upper rib last month, but I kept up with good food and I'm back to full workouts. It's interesting to me that my best strength to size ratio is when I weigh around 190. I would love to lift more at that weight.

37 = "older guy"

:yikes:

I don't even want to hear about that! What does that make me at 52?

:shocked1:

Anyway, unless you're going to go the PH route, stick with the basics:

*Clean diet
*Multivitamin
*Protein powder
*Creatine

As for your workouts, I'd say you are young enough that you don't have to include more rest days, cut back on sets, go light, etc. Hit it hard, eat right, take some basic supps, and you'll be up to 200 pounds in no time.

As for the PH's . . . that takes a lot of research and a whole lot more planning. I haven't gone that route yet, but I am learning all that I can (just in case)!

Good luck.

For natty test boosters I've just got my test results back from a long running log.

The astonishing result was that icariin / testofen (phyto-testosterone) gave zip.

MassFX/HyperdrolX2 gave 50% more test. Check the results in my log (sig.) if you don't believe me.

In fact maca/light DHEA run gave more test than icariin.

What really surprised me was I really went hard on the icariin in the cycle. I used all sorts of icariin extraction types. Icariin gives a big/massive libido boost, but zip testosterone. It does fit with the mechanism icariin is thought to use to boost libido, i.e. not by raising test, i.e. Viagra-like.

Personally with "natty" test boosters like that I'm not sure whether a PH is really needed because I really don't think MassFX/HX2 is the best test booster combo on the market.

If you carefully stacked 3 natties together I'm pretty sure you'd get back to 18+ test levels. I was close using AXs stack and the test sample would have gone through degradation as described in the log.

Thanks guys and sorry about the "old" comment! :p I'm glad to see there are guys in their 50s kicking ass on here. I have a few pals in the gym who are ****ing beasts still at your age, much respect.

Like I said above, I really don't have a ton of trouble gaining or cutting with food and training. I was 203 in April or so and then I cut and got injured from sports and that's the only reason I am a lean and strong 186.

I'm mostly just looking to see if a test booster works, IE - increases test levels. That is the goal, not weight or size. I can control size and weight, I just want to add test for strength and see how it feels overall. I assume I should start with a blood test to get my levels now?

Matthias, this is the sort of info that I was looking for. I will look at your log.

Tx again guys.

A good test booster will do that. I would recommend no more than 2 months on a test booster then a month off.

I'm going nuts trying to research this because every thread I find was started by an 18 year old and it just turns into "don't do it, you're too young" blah blah blah. I'm 37 god dammit! :) Skinny teens shut up for a minute plz.

So do I need a natural test booster or a PH? I'm not sure. Animal Stak any good? I read about that ina a thread about natural test boosters, but then read the ingredients and found it has a bunch of diols in it.

I would start with a good Natty test booster. There are a lot of good ones out there that do not contain the diols. Check out the supplement/review section there has been recent logs on some of the test boosters run by guys near your age.

I am currently running an ActX/Stoked combo and getting great results. I will bounce from this to a Prime run. There are some very good natural boosters available that give fantastic results. If the other pieces of the puzzle are in place there should be no problem gaining with these. You have some good years ahead of you TZ!!
